Art Never Dies

Art comes in many forms. From writing, to paintings, to steel sculptures, all aspects of art are very appreciated by the creative community.

Some might even say computer programming is an art because some code can be beautiful and masterfully written.

The point is, any form of art is welcomed and highly encouraged because it truly shows the creative side to humans. The fact that some people are able to think of something so creative and then physically transform this vision into something they can share with the world is truly amazing.

The appreciation for art heightens when there is a limited amount of particular work by an artist, an artist who can no longer create such masterpieces. This is exactly the case for Bruce Harlen, a truly talented young artist that suddenly passed away while on his honeymoon in mid 2014.

As an artist, Bruce proved time after time his precision in his illustrations. Bruce Harlen also worked as a Barista in Auckland, New Zealand, and was able to show his passion for art in the coffee he made. He called this “foam art.” This incredibly unique type of art put smiles on the faces of all his customers.

The value of art is not just shown through it’s monetary value, but also in it’s emotional value that the artist brings forth and inspires. Unfortunately, the inevitable end of our stories we call life affects more people than we will ever know. For Bruce’s children Ruby, Ari, and Nina, they are experiencing something no child should have to deal with, but it is their reality.

Through the innovative use of crowdfunding on Indiegogo, Lora Harlen (Bruce’s wife), is seeking the help of art collectors and enthusiasts. Lora has created a book of Bruce’s works, including his “foam art,” poems, writings and much more that is available right now on Indiegogo.
