For years we’ve heard the prophecies… ‘The year of Linux is coming!’
Like the apocalypse, experts have spoken about the coming of Linux for ages, even though, it never seems to come.
Until now…
Order a new Dell computer and you’ll notice Ubuntu is an option for your operating system…
Finally after all these years, Linux is even heading to smartphones, tablets, and TV’s…
You can’t make this stuff up…
… It’s happening!
All around us…
Could it really be the year of Linux once and for all?
Could this really be it? Is the age of Linux upon us?
The age of Linux hasn’t come yet, but Ubuntu has cracked what no other Linux distribution has managed to crack… Market share. Small, but not insignificant.
With the increased diversity of operating systems and devices, technology is becoming so prolific that users are becoming more adaptable to change.
Users no longer expect a device to be the same old thing they’ve used for years, they expect something new, different and exciting.
Users now look forward to change. They anticipate change with drool foaming from their mouths.
… recent surveys show people under the age of thirty change cell phone every 10 months!
Do people get iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows, Linux? Who cares. It doesn’t matter anymore.
Folks end up getting what’s shiny and cool.
All that matters is that they can pick up the device and intuitively do something with it right away.
… it doesn’t even have to be affordable.
Maybe the next time they pick something up, it will be Ubuntu.
Maybe the year of Linux is almost here!
… Or maybe the carrot is just dangling a little closer.
