The OUYA is a brand new 1080p HD Gaming Console that lets you play Android games on your television with a Bluetooth Wireless Controller.
… and we’re not just talking about Angry Birds here. The OUYA might not compare to this generations gaming consoles like the Wii U, PS4, and XBox One, but it’s still more powerful than last generations Nintendo Wii which led all consoles in software sales with 760 million games sold.
There is a large community of independent developers as well as game studios designing games specifically for OUYA.

This generation of gaming will not be won by the most powerful gaming console, it will be won by creative and innovative multiplayer gameplay.
The Ouya is a completely open system, nothing is locked down. This might seem like a small detail to some, but the Raspberry Pi has been consistently selling out at $35-$40 with nothing but a breadboard. For $60 more, you get a full operating system, a nice, small device in a case that comes with a wireless controller and a huge library of software.
The OUYA might not be for everyone, but at $99, it’s an easy impulse buy that’s much easier to justify than the $499 price tag of the Xbox One.
Check out YouTube, there are already tons of videos of the developers game jam. The casual gaming community will love this device, but some serious games are coming too.
… and the best part is all game are free to try.
Ouya is aiming to make money off rapid microtransactions- nickles and dimes. Take a look at the Android market, this will give you an idea of prices to expect. The goal is to sell low cost games to a huge amount of customers.
The system is inexpensive and the games are inexpensive. It’s still an upgrade over the Nintendo Wii and less expensive than a Wii U. If you’re a parent, there is no doubt OUYA is the best option to provide your kids with a quality gaming device at a reasonable price. You can buy an OUYA and 400 games, or a PlayStation 4 with one game. What do you think will provide more entertainment? The OUYA is a no-brainer.
… and if you’re way past the phase in life where paying $60 for a game you’ll barely have time to touch, the OUYA is perfect for you as well. In fact, you can buy the device for $99 and never pay for a single game since they are all free to try and you don’t have the time to invest beyond that anyways.
If people are realistic and forget about marketing hype for a second, most will realize the OUYA is the device best suited for themselves, their kids and their family. This market is HUGE.
Don’t get me wrong, this generations gaming consoles are going to be great as well.
If you’re a hardcore gamer, you’ll probably prefer a PlayStation 4. If you love to have fun and enjoy the best AAA gaming software in-existence, you’ll get a Wii U. Did you know the Top 15 best selling games of all-time were all created by Nintendo?
I’m just saying, don’t count out the OUYA. It’s by far the most affordable device, it will have the largest library of games, and every game will be free-to-try which is an insanely good deal for casual gamers who just want to kick-back once-in-a-while.
… and if you find a game on OUYA that you do decide to pay for, it’s only going to cost a couple of bucks. People will tell you Android games aren’t the same quality or don’t go to the same depth as mainstream console games. In most cases this is absolutely true. But, $60 for a 10 hour game just isn’t as viable as getting 3 hours out of a $2-3 Android game.
There is a huge market for the OUYA gaming console.
